The Mediterranean College of Sport is a secondary and post-secondary school, catering for student-athletes aged 11 to 18 years. The school firmly believes in nurturing the talents and aspirations of students, both in the academic field and in their chosen sporting disciplines of football, athletics, swimming, water polo, and artistic swimming. STRENGHT & CONDITIONING COACH

FULL TIME

The Role

A vacancy has arisen at the Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) for the post of Strength & Conditioning Coach on a full-time basis.

Duties

To deliver the performance science provision for the development and performance programmes of student-athletes, and to support them achieving their outcome goals.

To act as a strength & conditioning coach and ensure optimal collaboration within the MCS multi-disciplinary team.

To monitor athlete status, wellness, testing, training recovery, and rehabilitation.

Deliver performance science support in the following areas:

  • Data analysis – workload, GPS, and heart rate monitoring
  • Anthropometric assessment
  • Athlete profiling & benchmarking
  • Physiological and fitness assessments

Integrate evidence-based recommendations into daily practice.

Design evidence-based protocols for return to training process and liaise transition with medical department and coaching staff.

Participate in effective CPD programme for performance science staff as appropriate.

Essential Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in Sports Science (or related discipline)
  • MSc/MRes/MPhil in Sports Science (or related discipline)

Skills

Good understanding of performance science and related disciplines, including their impact on athletic performance.

Experience as an applied practitioner in performance science.

Experience in conducting scientifically underpinned assessment, monitoring and evaluation procedures.

Experience of using data management systems to ensure the secure and efficient storage of monitoring and evaluation data.

A confident decision-maker.

Have a flexible attitude to work.

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff at all levels, with absolute discretion.

Be organised and have good time management skills.

Committed, enthusiastic and passionate about the athletic and holistic development of young talented athletes.

Dedicated to self-improvement and continuous professional development.
